Moravia Steel a.s. has chosen SES Tlmače to provide the refurbishment of water-cooled flue gas duct, which means the repeating of the successful cooperation with this key customer in an interesting product range. Specifically speaking, the project concerns the supply of water-cooled flue gas duct downstream K2 convertor furnace for pig iron processing. Significant amount of heat is released in flue gas during pig iron processing. Because of high temperatures of flue gasses in steel-making process, the water-cooled flue gas duct is a complicated piece of process equipment – a tubular heat exchanger and a flue gas duct at the same time, the production of which requires to employ special fabrication procedures. SES a.s. has many years of experience in application of these within the production process. Inconel cladding – a special nickel based alloy layer will be applied to the top and bottom inner surface of the duct in order to increase service life and to reduce wear. After the products are delivered to Třinecké železárny a continuous multiple-shift process of dismantling of the old and assembly of the new components will follow, relying on proven technology procedures conforming with a very tight time schedule during the convertor furnace shutdown. The contract on execution of this project was signed on 14th Janurary 2019.
